North Carolina Archives Week is an annual, week-long observance of the agencies and people responsible for maintaining and making available the archival and historical records of our nation, state, communities and people. The events are a celebration of the work that we and our organizations do, but it is also a time to raise public awareness about the important role archives play in their communities.
Archives Week in North Carolina is sponsored by the Society of North Carolina Archivists (SNCA) and will take place October 22-28th. This year’s theme is “Journeys to Justice: Civil Rights in North Carolina.”
Every year the State Archives takes part in North Carolina Archives Week, usually providing a series of lectures, exhibits, and other events. A flyer of this year’s events is available through our website or you can find the events on the Dept. of Cultural Resources events page.
