As of July 1, 2012, the Division of Archives and Records* will no longer offer traditional photographic prints due to the decline in requests, expense of maintaining the necessary machinery, and the increased difficulty in acquiring and maintaining the chemicals and paper needed for the printing process. Scans and digital prints are still available along with other digital services. Currently inkjet photographic prints are available in print sizes from 4” x 5” to 13” x19. Inkjet prints have improved over the last few years and, in most cases, exceed the quality of the machine prints.
Statements about this change are now posted on our website. From the sounds of it, this will not affect many of you since the majority of our users already get digital copies or inkjet printed copies.
