New Civil War Letters Available in the NCDC

Today on our Civil War 150 blog I wrote about the Henry H. Bowen Papers. We’ve just finished adding these Civil War era letters, written by a conscripted Confederate Marine stationed in Charleston, S.C., and his wife living in Union occupied Washington County, N.C., to the North Carolina Digital Collections as part of our ongoing project to digitize materials for the Civil War Sesquicentennial. Go to our Civil War blog to read more about this fascinating correspondence and other Civil War materials available online.

Next up for our letters digitization project will be the Poteet Family letters (link goes to the Poteet-Dickson Letters finding aid).
