I have two bits of news from the State Archives to tell you about today:
The finding aids of the North Carolina State Archives and the Outer Banks History Center can now be searched via ArchiveGrid, OCLC’s database of archival collection descriptions. Hopefully having our information in the database will make it easier for North Carolina residents and researchers from all over the world to find materials within our collections. In taking part in ArchiveGrid, we join institutions like the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Harvard University, the National Library of Australia, the Art Institute of Chicago, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and many others who have made their archival finding aids available through the site.
Also, just a reminder that the Search Room will be closed July 3-5 for the Independence Day holiday.
