As I’m sure many people already know, the North Carolina State Archives is part of the Department of Cultural Resources (DCR). But all of the readers of this blog may not be aware of the many cultural and historical resources available directly from DCR. While the list that follows is not exhaustive, it will give you a taste of some of the interesting media available through the department’s website.
- An index of all podcasts and audio tours, including tours of both Tryon Palace and the Thomas Wolfe Memorial (mp3 files).
- Homepage for the ncculture.com podcast and archived shows.
- Cultural Resources Interactive, which currently includes an interactive exhibit on Fort Dobbs and the French and Indian War.
- DCR “In the News,” including news stories and press releases.
