The front stairs of the North Carolina Library/Archives Building are now closed in order to allow the completion of a platform for the upcoming inauguration ceremony. Visitors and staff will need to use the Blount Street ramp to access the front doors for the next few days. The building will still be closed to the public on Saturday, January 10 for the inauguration and the stairs are likely to continue to be blocked through at least the morning of Monday, January 13. Jones Street will be closed at 7 AM on Friday, January 9th and will not re-open until Sunday, January 11. Both the visitor and staff parking lots across the street from the Library/Archives Building will be closed beginning at 6 PM on Thursday, January 8.
