Hours Change and Interesting Web Updates

Now that the Search Room is open to the public again post-renovation, we are returning to our original weekday hours of 8 AM-5:30 PM. Saturday hours will remain 9 AM-5 PM and we will be closed on Sundays and Mondays.

In other news, there is an addition to our list of “Library and Archives Blogs” on the sidebar. The North Carolina Collection Photographic Archives at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has created a blog to document the processing of the Hugh Morton Photographs and Films.

Speaking of online resources, you might want to check out the online exhibit “Democracy and the Media” created by Sarah Wittmer, our summer intern via the Youth Advocacy and Involvement Office’s 2007 North Carolina State Internship Program. The exhibit’s purpose is to make materials from the State Archives more easily accessible to middle and high school students. If that sparks your interest, you can find more online exhibits on our Online Projects page. Other recent additions to our website include new container lists for some county records.
