Educational Resources Website

The North Carolina State Archives has created an Educational Resources website in order to share newly developed materials with the public, especially North Carolina’s educators and students. The site includes five episodes from North Carolina’s rich history for students to explore and includes companion lesson plans and other resources for teachers.

The website was created by Carrie Misenheimer, the Youth Advocacy and Involvement Program intern working in the Information Management Branch this summer. Ms. Misenheimer selected five lesson plans created by Debbi Blake (head of our Public Services Branch), scanned materials from the North Carolina State Archives collections that illustrate those lesson plans, and did research on the state standards met by each lesson plan.

Explore the site to learn more about:

Millie-Christine McKoy – Student Version / Teacher Version
Tom Dula – Student Version / Teacher Version
The Futch Family – Student Version /Teacher Version
The Wright Brothers – Student Version / Teacher Version
